Secure Communications

Secure communication is becoming more and more a part of our day to day lives, providing us with convenient and easy access to information. At Galois, we are investigating key questions in ensuring the safety and security of these networks. How can we ensure that our private communications stay private, even over an unsecured Internet? How can we utilize the wealth of wireless-capable devices to provide key telecommunications infrastructure during a crisis? In a world of increasing complicated routing — in which core technological limitations meet political and commercial complications — can we safely and securely describe and implement the policies we need?

Galois is currently investigating several key questions in this arena, focusing both on securing mobile devices at the edge of the network, and in describing configurations for routers at the core of the network.
